We celebrate Fastelavn in February or March, Midsummer in June, and Christmas in December. In the spring we also have our yearly general assembly meeting where we vote on members of the board.
We encourage members to take the initiative to organize other events to get to know other members. Past events include Happy Hour, Afternoon in the Park, Danish gathering in the Kaffestuen, senior gathering, excursion for children to the Boston Waterworks Museum, and more.

Midsummer Celebration
We celebrate Sankt Hans every June where we meet for a long day in the sun with entertainment and grilling. The program offers a variety of fun and cozy activities for the whole family. We start by saying welcome with a welcome punch. There is a small firepit for making bread on a stick, and we have soccer match, volleyball, and rope pull, as well as a flea market and a book swap table. In the early evening, the big grills are fired up for cooking dinner, and we have lots of fresh strawberries and ice cream, along with coffee and kringle, for dessert. We end the evening by lighting the big bonfire while singing the good old Danish songs and a few of the newer ones. Come join us for a long wonderful day – and bring sunscreen and bug spray!
Fastelavn
We celebrate Fastelavn every year in March or April.
The kids can have fun at the crafts table and play other fun games, before we hit the barrel till the candy falls out and we crown the Fastelavn king, queen and Best Costume!
It’s for adults too! Come meet other Danish folks over a cup of coffee in hyggelige surroundings.

General Assembly Meeting
We hold our annual General Assembly meeting every spring. Our president and treasurer both give their rapports on the past year, and we vote on who will be on the board for the coming year. We discuss new initiatives and invite new ideas from all members. Afterwards, we eat Danish open-faced sandwiches and pastries, and have a nice time together. Remember to pay your membership due so you can participate in the voting process!
Christmas celebration
Every December we invite you all to Julehygge for the Whole Family.
We will start with Det Kimer Nu Til Julefest, and then serve gløgg, æbleskiver, coffee, and kringle. The children can look forward to singing games and a visit from Santa who will bring goodies! Make Christmas decorations, a Christmas heart, a garland, or an orange with cloves. And join in as we sing the good old Danish Christmas carols around the tree.
